EPISODE NO.2

No Makeup on the Red Carpet. Power Move or Attention Junkie?

On this episode of the Separated At Birth Podcast ... Dishing on the whole Pamela Anderson no makeup STUNT during Paris Fashion Week.... which may seem like NBD in the grand scheme of news - Karen and I weigh in on this... we loved the idea of empowerment... the YOU-DO-YOU-BOO of it all... but it got gnarly for us in that she acted all coy about it like it wasn’t meant to be a makeup stunt... that it was supposed to isolate and highlight the clothing as the STAR of the show. We call BS. There was EFFORT there for her to look unkempt - her hair was a mess and she had zero on her face. I mean - a brush and some Chapstick would’ve gone a long way - and still given her the platform she was looking for as embracing her age and natural beauty. NOBODY IS ARGUING THAT. But - against the designer outfit - it was the glaring lack of effort and her “WHAT? ITS NOT ABOUT ME. ITS ABOUT THE CLOTHES.” that made it an issue. She should have at least given some polish to her look and at the same time came with nothing but her moisturizer on. She looked like she just got done cutting the grass and needed a beer. This was Paris fashion week and as the designer of the clothing she was wearing - it honestly showed a lack of respect for their brand and the shows. This was a bait and switch marketing move on Pam’s part - she drew a TON of attention to her face so she could launch a skincare line the next week. It was a con. And at the end of the day - nobody really gives a shit. But the reason it mattered enough to us to talk about it - was that some of us NORMAL GALS who really are embracing aging and wanting to look and feel our best while we hold hands with time - this girl was taking a shit on it and claiming to be an ambassador for self love and self care. Her intention was to sell skincare. Not embrace aging gracefully. I’m out Pam. What do you guys think? Have a listen to the episode and let us know!!

KATIE'S RELATIONSHIP HISTORY

Katie expresses trepidation over this episode being “bloody knuckles” Katie is apprehensive about her privacy being too exposed in this episode. The dance with having a very public social media account and still having boundaries around her private life. The point of this episode is how our common experiences in relationships have knitted us together as friends. And that everything is a lesson. WTF about how we keep learning the same lessons over and over and over in relationships.
